Fundraise for ACT at no cost to you!
by ACT
“No one has ever become poor by giving.” – Anne Frank
… Jack Beadle shares how he is making his online shopping count as a donation that goes towards paying school fees for a child in Africa.
Jack
I started supporting ACT in 2015 when I responded to an advert for a part time Communications Officer role, while still continuing my day job as a city trader. Thankfully, I was offered the position. Since then I have built the current ACT website, ran the Great South Run five times and travelled out to Ipaja, Lagos as a volunteer. I continue to maintain the website and still keen as ever on ACT.
Having experienced first-hand the work that ACT does, I know how a little money when given to ACT goes a long way. It’s why I’m hoping you will join me in this simple fundraising that is cost free to you.
Make your online shopping count
Have you heard of Give as you Live? I vaguely recalled some links on the African Child Trust website, but to be honest, I’d never ventured any further.
So, what is it?
Give as you live is an easy way to raise money for ACT at no cost to you. Whenever you make a purchase online from retailers partnered with Give as You Live, a donation will be made to ACT. There are over 40,000 retailers participating in the scheme including John Lewis, M&S, Asos and Sainsbury’s.
Sounds like hard work?
I thought so as well… but it isn’t, it’s really easy and takes 60-seconds. Here’s how:
Sign up here or click the link: https://www.giveasyoulive.com/refer/R9UoZgk-2Bj31KlO7DYIad9BvVrUg-3D
With each sign up that raises £5, ACT gets an additional £5! You will come to the page below and simply “sign up for free”:
So, now I have an account, what do I do next?
Simply go to https://www.giveasyoulive.com/dashboard
Enter the store name you wish to visit e.g. Just Eat:
And “Shop Now”
Then shop as normal!
Once you close the browser Give as you live will send a notification of your donation to ACT.
So, if you spend £20 on a takeaway at Just Eat… ACT will receive a donation of 40p. It may not seem much, but remember it is cumulative and every bit adds up.
And it’s free?
Yes! Be assured you won’t pay extra for your shopping. The donation is made at no extra cost to you. There are no joining or payment fees, so 100% of the donation will reach the charity.
Make it a habit. It’s really that easy! I promise! Each time I shop online, I remember I can help pay a child’s school fees in this way. Every penny counts.
